Donald Lee Hampton, 87, passed away on May 27, 2026, in Bradenton, Florida. Born on September 4, 1938, Donald dedicated his life to his family and his work, leaving a lasting impact on those around him.

Donald graduated from Litchfield High School and furthered his education at Southern Illinois University. While living in Taylorville, Illinois, he built a respected career as a Fieldman for Farm Business Farm Management, associated with the University of Illinois, where his work supported many in the agricultural community. He served farmers in Christian and Shelby Counties in Illinois. After retirement he moved to Phoenix, Arizona and later Colorado Springs, Colorado to be close to his grandchildren. After his cancer returned, Don and Wanda followed his son and daughter in-law to a Del Webb community in Bradenton, FL.

A loving husband and a great father, Donald cherished his family above all. He is survived by his wife, Wanda Hampton; son, John Hampton and daughter-in-law, Jeannie Hampton; grandsons, Christopher and Austin Hampton; and brother, Paul Hampton. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Hampton and Ina Hall Hampton; stepmother, Lois Grady Hampton; and brother, Carl Hampton.

Donald was a long-time member of the Sertoma Club and harbored a passion for sports. He was an avid fan of the St. Louis Baseball Cardinals, a dedicated fan of the Illini College basketball and football teams, and a big fan of the Denver Broncos football team.

There will be no services as per his wishes. Donald's life was one of dedication, love, and passion, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
