Frank James Pondillo Sr., age 80, of Bradenton, Florida passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2024. Frank was born on Feb. 6th, 1943 in Brooklyn, N.Y. to the parents of Pasquale and Filomina Pondillo, and graduated from Franklin K. Lane High school in 1961. He later married Michelle and moved to Farmingdale, N.Y. Frank's life has been nothing short of extraordinary.
Frank proudly served in the US Army. He spent his career as a N.Y.C. Fireman helping countless people. His dedication and hard work earned him the respect and admiration of his peers. Despite his busy schedule, Frank always made time for his family. He is a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, and his loved ones hold a special place in his heart. His wisdom and guidance have shaped the lives of his children, and grandchildren instilling in them the values of hard work, integrity and compassion.
As he enjoyed his retirement in the sunshine state of Florida, Frank continued to live life to the fullest. He indulged in his hobbies of watching hockey, going to baseball games and collecting firearms. He enjoyed dedicating his time attending the funerals of fallen soldiers without family. This selfless act demonstrated the love and passion he had for his country and community.
Frank J. Pondillo Sr. is a shining example of resilience, strength, and determination. His legacy will continue to inspire and uplift those around him, leaving an eternal mark on the hearts of all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Frank is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Michelle Enders, Son Frank Pondillo, Daughters Krista (Matthew) Aloy and Carolyn Bologna, Grandchildren Anthony Pondillo, Ryan Pondillo, Samantha Pondillo, Giana Bologna, Dominick Aloy, and Gabriella Aloy, Great Grandchildren Adalynn Pondillo and Millie Pondillo, and Brother Pat Pondillo.
A visitation for Frank will be held Wednesday, February 7, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Robert Toale & Sons Celebration of Life Center, 4310 Solutions Lane, Bradenton, FL 34211. A visitation will occur Wednesday, February 7, 2024 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, 4310 Solutions Lane, Bradenton, FL 34211. A funeral mass will occur Thursday, February 8, 2024 at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church, 12905 State Road 70 E, Lakewood Ranch, FL 34202, with Fire and Army Honors at conclusion.
