George Creed Miller

George Creed Miller, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away on September 18, 2026 leaving a legacy of love, adventure, and dedication. Born on August 26, 1947, in Louisville, KY, George was the son of the late Louis Howard and Mary Helen Miller.

Creed’s early years were spent in Louisville, where he cultivated a passion for learning and his dream to become a Dentist. He graduated from Trinity High School in 1965, demonstrating an early dedication to his studies that would follow him throughout his life. George went on to earn both his Bachelor's Degree and a Doctorate in Dentistry from the University of Louisville, completing his dental education in 1973. Creed was a member of the American Dental Association, Louisville Dental Association, Kentucky Dental Association and the Florida Dental Association.

In 1970, Creed married the love of his life, Patricia Devine, beginning an incredible journey that spanned 56 wonderful years. Together, they raised three children: Jennifer, Devin, and Colin. Creed loved his family very much and he delighted in spending time with them, whether at home or adventuring in the great outdoors.

Professionally, Creed was a dedicated dentist, serving his patients with compassion and expertise for 50 years. His career began in the Navy, and he later ran his own private practice, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues and patients alike.

Creed was an avid outdoor enthusiast, finding immense joy in exploring the natural world. He spent countless hours canoeing lakes and rivers across the United States and Canada, and his love for the water extended to many years of sailing on the Ohio River and beyond. He also enjoyed backpacking and hiking, as well as biking adventures that took him across states such as Kentucky, Indiana, and Iowa, often accompanied by his children.

Creed is survived by his devoted wife Patricia, their children Jennifer, Devin, and Colin, his siblings James Miller and Ellen Althaus, and two cherished grandchildren who will carry forward his adventurous spirit.

In accordance with the family's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Creed’s life and legacy.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in George's memory to the Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy Research, an organization dedicated to advancing research and support for muscular dystrophy.

George Creed Miller will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his spirit will continue to inspire those he leaves behind. His love of life, family, and nature will forever remain in the hearts of those he touched.
