

Kim (Kilby) Jakubaitis of Bradenton, Florida, formally of Punta Gorda, Florida, age 71, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2026, surrounded by her family. She was born on December 11, 1954, in Los Angeles, California, to Thomas and Betty Kilby.
Kim met the love of her life, Steve Jakubaitis, in Mount Dora in 1988. They were married in August 1997 and shared 28 wonderful years together, building a life filled with love, laughter, and companionship.
Kim was a devoted and loving mother to her daughter, Kelly (Battle) Nunn, and a deeply cherished grandmother to her two grandsons, Tyler and Brady Nunn, who were the light of her life and brought her endless pride and joy.
She had a lifelong love of nature and found happiness in birds, animals, plants, and trees. She was also an enthusiastic fan of the Tampa Bay Lightning and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Kim enjoyed cooking and reading, and she brought warmth and care into everything she did.
Professionally, Kim served as the office manager for her husband’s Port Charlotte dental practice and later worked as a Community Association Manager for Deep Creek Section 20. She was known for her dedication, reliability, and her ability to connect easily with others.
Kim will be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor and her easygoing, approachable nature. She had a gift for making people feel comfortable and valued, and her presence left a lasting impression on everyone she met. As her family lovingly shares, the world is a better place because she was in it.
She was preceded in death by her mother, father, and sister, Stephanie. She is survived by her loving husband, Steve Jakubaitis; her daughter, Kelly (Jason) Nunn; her grandchildren, Tyler and Brady Nunn; her sister, Kolleen (David) and niece, Sarah; along with extended family and dear friends.
A celebration of Kim’s life will be held on Friday, June 12 at 11:00 a.m. at New Day Christian Church, 7000 Sumter Crossings Dr., North Port, Florida.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Kim’s memory to the National Audubon Society or The Arbor Day Foundation.
