Lindsey passed away surrounded by her devoted husband and loving family on November 3, 2025 following a two-year battle with cancer at the tender age of 26. She faced her cancer journey with unshakable courage, grace, determination, and positivity, inspiring all who knew her. She was a loving wife to Chris, a cherished daughter to Karen and Larry Callahan, a devoted sister to Kellie, Ryan and Travis Callahan, and a beloved granddaughter to Janet Gearty and Larry Callahan.
She graduated from Florida State University in 2022 with a Master of Science Degree in Curriculum and Instruction and began her career as a third grade teacher at Wilkinson Elementary where she was chosen as Literacy Teacher of the Year in 2025. Most recently she was teaching fifth grade at Gocio Elementary where she was adored by her students and respected by her colleagues for her dedication and enthusiasm.
Though her time with us was far too short, Lindsey made an unforgettable impact on all our lives. She was a beautiful woman, inside and out, who was defined by her kindness, intelligence, and positivity. She was a beacon of light who brought joy to everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Lindsey was the kind of person who could find humor in any situation. She had the rare gift of making others smile and laugh, leaving a lasting impact on all who crossed her path.
Outside of her passion for teaching, Lindsey loved diving into a good book, listening to music, spending time at the beach, competing in trivia and family game nights, and cuddling with her rescue dog, Ringo. Her love for travel reflected her adventurous and free spirit. She loved going out with friends and family, especially if it involved espresso martinis or anything with buffalo sauce.
Although Lindsey’s physical presence may no longer be with us, her spirit will always live within us and continue to inspire us all. We will always cherish the laughs and many memories we shared. May we carry on her legacy of love and laughter in all that we do and may her memory live forever in our hearts.
A service to celebrate Lindsey’s life will be held at Incarnation Catholic Church on November 15, 2025 at 11:30am, followed by a graveside service and a Celebration of Life. Robert Toale and Sons Celebration of Life Center at Lakewood Ranch is assisting with arrangements. We invite family and friends to join us in remembering and celebrating her life.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Smile Mass, 66 Dudley Road, Sudbury, MA 01776 (smilemass.org) or the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation (nationalpcf.org). These causes reflect her spirit and commitment to making a positive difference in the world.
