Linwood graduated from East Carolina University, a milestone that reflected the steady determination with which he approached life and the responsibilities he carried.
He served in the USAF from 1957 to 1960, answering his country’s call with quiet dignity and a deep respect for duty.
Linwood was preceded in death by his parents, Richard F. and Ellen C. Lewis; sisters Ethel Rowe and Annabelle Craddock; brothers Vernon and Lloyd Lewis; niece Betty R. Lewis; and his life partner, George Farmer.
He is survived by his nephew, Lloyd Allen Lewis; niece Crystal Lewis; great niece Abigail Lewis; and longtime friends, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Penge and Mrs. Betty Byrne.
A graveside service with Military Honors will take place on Thursday, October 22, 2026 at 11:30 am at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Rd 72, Sarasota, FL 34241.
