

Melvin Michael Ochab Jr. of Bradenton, Florida passed away on June 5, 2026, at the age of 65. He was born on July 27, 1960, in Baltimore, MD, to the late Melvin Michael Ochab Sr. and Rose Marie Ochab (nee Koenig).
Melvin built a long and successful career with Baltimore Gas and Electric, earning respect through steady dedication and a strong work ethic that defined so much of his life. In all he did, he was deeply beloved—by family, by those who worked alongside him, and by those who had the privilege of knowing him well.
On April 14, 2007, Melvin married Cynthia D. Ebertz. Together, they shared a life marked by devotion and the kind of companionship that turns ordinary days into lasting memories. He is also survived by his sisters, Debra Gephardt, Theresa Brendel, and Cynthia Dressel, and was a proud uncle to Aaron and Ashley Dressel and Kelsey Brendel.
Melvin carried a lifelong sense of purpose and discipline, evident in the many pursuits that mattered to him. He was an Eagle Scout and a competitive bodybuilder, and he remained loyal to his hometown football team, the Ravens. In 2015, he fulfilled his dream of moving to Florida and made his home in Sarasota. He also loved the Caribbean, particularly Aruba, where he and Cindy made memories that will be held close.
Melvin will be remembered with respect, gratitude, and enduring affection.
