Robert Shollar

Robert Shollar, born March 23, 1957 in Newark, NJ, to the late Richard Gerald Shollar and Jeanette (nee Liantonio) Shollar, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2023 in Bradenton, FL at the age of 66. He was the beloved father of Sherri Shollar, Robert Michael Shollar, and Andrea Theresa Smith (Greg William Smith); cherished grandfather of Mason James Smith; and loving brother of Debi M. Russo and Richard G. Shollar Jr. He is also survived by his girlfriend, Sharon Sluss. Besides his parents, Robert is also preceded in death by his wife, Gail F. Shollar.

Robert was a graduate of David Brearly Regional High School in Kenilworth, NJ in 1975. He had a successful career in restaurant and retail management.

Robert was a passionate and devoted father who raised his three children on his own after the death of his wife. He was a hardworking man who was always looking for new ways to provide for his family. He was also a very generous and welcoming person who always put others first.

Robert was a man of many hobbies and interests. He enjoyed riding his Harley, computer gaming, creative carpentry, poker family night, grilling and chilling by the pool, boating and jet skiing, historical weaponry, war history and military strategy, fireworks, home improvement projects, and drinking beer.

Robert was a stubborn yet quick-witted man who was always up for a challenge. He was clever and had a great sense of humor. He was a loyal friend and a devoted family man who was always there for his loved ones. He was also a very protective and unwavering person who had a charismatic personality.

Robert will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. A visitation for Robert will be held Monday, December 18, 2023 from 12:00 PM until the time of service at 1:00 PM at Robert Toale & Sons Celebration of Life Center, 4310 Solutions Lane, Bradenton, FL 34211. Robert will be laid to rest next to his wife, Gail in Lake Nelson Memorial Park, in Piscataway, NJ on Friday, December 22, 2023 at 10:00 AM.
