

Teresa “Terry” (Casamassa) Tryzna, longtime resident of Enfield, CT and later resident of Rocky Hill, CT and Lakewood Ranch, FL entered into eternal life at the age of 92 with her loving family at her side, on Monday, June 9, 2025 at Sarasota Memorial Hospital in Sarasota, FL. She was the beloved wife of the late Anthony J. Tryzna Sr. of Westfield, MA and daughter of the late John and Carmela (Zaccaro) Casamassa of Enfield, CT.
Teresa was born on July 15, 1932 at her childhood home in Thompsonville, CT where she grew up with her brothers Vincent and Angelo Casamassa and sisters Florence Tracy and Mary Bellafronte. As a young lady, Teresa loved to go dancing with her girlfriends and later with her husband almost every weekend. She was a graduate of Enfield High School. Terry worked for the Enfield Public School system for 41 years as a school administrative secretary where she built lasting connections with students, teachers, and other administrators.
Terry was very proud of her Italian heritage by carrying on the traditions of Italian cooking learned from her mother. Regularly on weekends, you would see her making homemade sauces, meatballs, and dough to show her love to her family and friends. She was devoted to taking care of her family, including her son, Anthony J. Tryzna, Jr. and daughter, Monica J. Guiliano. While taking care of her children, she would entertain them by singing. She would break out in song around the house. She enjoyed visiting her mother, father, siblings, and nieces and nephews at her childhood home on Pleasant Street. This is where the family would regularly play board games and card games being her favorite pastime.
During the summertime, she would regularly bring her children to Soundview Beach in Old Lyme, CT where she was an avid swimmer and enjoyed the local cuisine and sweet treats. She also enjoyed camping with her extended family. Another of her favorite pastimes, was going to see movies at the local drive-in with her sister, nieces, and nephews. When spending time with her family or just going to work, Terry loved being able to express her own unique style by dressing to impress with her clothes, hair, and makeup. She was never afraid of being herself and leaving her own unique mark on the world.
Later in life, she liked to read a classic mystery or romance novel and was a regular viewer of Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, where her daughter and grandson, Matthew J. Guiliano, would watch with her. She still enjoyed watching movies and tv shows and would seek out recommendations from grandson Matthew during their weekly phone calls. She would also keep in touch with her son in Connecticut every night.
Teresa was the loving and devoted mother to Anthony J. Tryzna, Jr. of Connecticut and Monica J. Guiliano and husband Anthony J. Guiliano, Jr. of Florida. She was the beloved grandmother to Anthony J. Guiliano III and his wife Jacqueline S. Guiliano of Connecticut and Matthew J. Guiliano of Florida and great-grandmother to Anthony J. Guiliano IV and Addison M. Guiliano of Connecticut. She was predeceased by her sisters Florence Tracy and Mary Bellafronte and brothers Vincent Casamassa of Connecticut and Angelo Casamassa and sister-in-law Eleanor Casamassa of Massachusetts and aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may gather during a funeral mass at St. Patrick’s Church in Enfield, CT at 10:00 AM on Friday, June 27, 2025 followed by a Christian Burial at St. Patrick’s King Street Cemetery in Enfield, CT.
Memorial donations in her memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in lieu of flowers.
