Born on March 24, 1967, Tom grew up in Silver Bay, Minnesota, where he graduated from Silver Bay High School. A standout athlete, he was the star placekicker on the Silver Bay football team. He went on to earn a graduate degree from Villanova University as well as his Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification before building a successful career as an HR manager, working for several companies in Minnesota and Florida.
Tom loved to make people laugh. He will be remembered for his sharp wit and unforgettable sense of humor. He had a unique ability to deliver a perfectly timed, often irreverent comment that could catch people off guard and leave them laughing. He genuinely loved being around others and had a gift for bringing levity to everyday moments.
He embraced the country club lifestyle, enjoying both the social connections and the competitive spirit of tennis and golf. It was a world where he felt at home. Outside of that, Tom found comfort and companionship in his beloved cats, Romeo and Saint, who brought him joy and constant entertainment.
Tom was a complex and deeply human person—funny, generous, and caring, especially with those closest to him. He managed to continue to show humor and resilience outwardly even when he was dealing internally with his own health and emotional issues.
He is survived by his former wife of 18 years, Denise; his brother, David; his niece, Alivia; his half-siblings, Arlene Clayton (Bob Clayton); Kathy Packard, Bob Lind, and John Hall. He was preceded in death by his father, Wallace, his mother, Janet, and half-sibling Gary Arnebeck.
Tom will be remembered for the laughter he created, the intelligence he brought to conversations, and the moments of genuine connection he shared with others. His family and loved ones ask that he be remembered with compassion and understanding.
