

Craig grew up on a farm in Iowa. He graduated from Chester, H.S in 1955 in a class of 12 students. He went on to Iowa State University (then College) and graduated in 1959. He served in the Army as an MP and then in the Active Army Reserve. After the Army, he spent many years employed by the Federal Land Bank Corporation working up to the position of Bank President in Red Oak, Iowa. From Red Oak, he moved to Leesburg, VA where he started a second career in retail sales for Macy’s Corporation, which he retired from and subsequently moved to Bradenton, Florida.
Craig had a ready wit and loved to joke with his kids and grandkids. He enjoyed visiting his family, playing cards, reading, and keeping up with current events. For hobbies, he was an avid runner in his younger years, played tennis, golfed, bowled, loved exercising, and was a good dancer with his wife as his partner.
Craig is survived by his wife, Virginia of 60 years, his three daughters, Laurie Raibley, Catherine Royster, and Stephanie Waldrop, two brothers Damon and Jerry, and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Lee Kintz.
There will be a private ceremony on June 19, 2023 at the Robert Toale and Sons Celebration of Life Center in Lakewood Ranch, Florida, and then he will be laid to rest in Lime Springs, IA.
