Ben leaves behind his wife of 61 years, Thelma (DeHoedt) Andrews, his six children, 20 grandchildren, 10 great grand children and many close relatives and friends. He was the son of Edward and Margaret (Stainwall) Andrews of Ceylon.
Born in Colombo, Ceylon (Sri Lanka), he immigrated alone to Canada in 1966 and resided in the Toronto area. His goal was to bring his wife and 6 children to Canada, his new home, as soon as possible. He committed two years of life, working three jobs to raise funds to establish a home and achieve his goal. He was the catalyst for a successful and prosperous future for his children and their families in Canada.
He was truly a devoted man whose life was dedicated to his extensive family.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses, doctors and staff at Etobicoke Hospital for the exceptional care he received during his lengthy stay.
