Dearest Chiara, Tania, and Randall,
My heartfelt condolences to all of you on the passing of your beloved Dad.
Mr. Ackerman was a kind and generous man, who always had a smile on his face and would share his oatmeal cookies with me. He, along with Mrs. Ackerman, provided me care and support when Auntie Ivy was not available to watch me. I also have many fun memories of their cottage at Wasaga. Time passes so quickly and people go their separate ways, but I still think fondly of your sweet family.
Please accept my belated sympathies. I pray your mom and dad have been reunited in Heaven and are watching over all of you now.

When our dear friend Benjamin (Bennie) passed away, we lost a lifelong friend. We grew up together in Claremont, Cape Town, and have been friends since early childhood. We belonged to the same church and attended services, Sunday school and prayer meetings together. I knew his late beloved wife, Mavis, for almost as long. In all the years I have known him he remained a faithful and true Christian, a kind, gentle friend who liked to reminisce about those early days whenever we got together. Those faroff days carried many memories for us of life in Neave Street where he grew up as the "baby" in the bosom of his large family. We will always remember Ben with great love and carry him and Mavis in our hearts forever. Heartfelt condolences to all the family .

Dear Randall, Tania, Chiara and family,
Our heartfelt condolences to all of you on the passing of your beloved Dad and Grandfather. Benny was a kind and generous friend to our family who , along with his late wife, Mavis, provided
tremendous support to us after we had newly arrived in Canada from our nativeland, South Africa, many decades ago. We will long remember the joyful times we spent in their company and for their unstinting hospitality. My parents were always looking forward to those times as they could reminisce with him about the Ackerman family history and their contributions to the Calvyn Prorestant Church, Cape Town, of which his father was a stalwart founding member. Benny was an accomplished musician who played the piano and led the choir at the church where my Dad was the presiding Minister and where we attended services. It was a joyful day when the Volkwijn family was reunited with Benny, Mavis and family in Toronto. Our bonds of friendship continued over the years and we are all the better for knowing such a kind, cheerful and gentle man of Faith.
We mourn his loss and thank him from the bottom of our hearts for his service to the communities.
With love to your family,💌
William and Karen

My sincere condolences to Randal, Tania, Chiara and Family. Such sad news to hear of Mr. Ackerman's passing. Our families spent a lot of time together both in Bramalea and Wasaga Beach, with lots of fun and laughs. Mr. Ackerman was quiet but so sweet and so very joyful. He had a great sense of humour and was the nicest man you could meet.
He will be missed greatly ❤
Love Wendy
