Today is Christmas Day 2023! I spent the day alone today because our grandchildren are sick. Not easy to do but the right thing to do. Let Kris and Sara take care of the kids and get some rest. Of course the hours have gone by and most if it I thought of you and all the loved ones I’ve lost David. Christmas has never been the same without you. I know you know about my health issues and I ask that you be my Angel through it. Watch over our family and guide us in the right direction. Give my Mother, Father, Sister Debbie, Melissa and Dave Cliffe a hug for me. I never stop thinking about you and my Dad. I miss him so much David.

Life would have been so different with you here, I often wonder why you had to leave so soon!  I can’t help but think that the suffering you went through was unbearable and God took you away from all that.

Well David,

It is December 2020 and it has been one of the most trying years in history for the World! I'm sure you know about Covid-19.
I miss you more everyday. Christmas is only 4 days away and it will not be the same without you.  Even though I live with people I am alone everyday!  Can't wait to be with you again. 

Kris and Sara are well and Mara of course is growing everyday and is the love of my life.  Not sure what I would do without her.

I know you know what is going on around here cause I feel your presence. It's not been pretty but I ask God to help me through it and I talk to you all the time. 

I'm sure you have Melissa by your side too. Grace & Ron miss her dearly too.  Hopefully God will carry her and Ron through Christmas this year and through the years ahead.

Michael and his wife are well and are so committed to the Lord and are leading such a beautiful life I'm sure their wishes for the future are bright including medical school for Mike and perhaps if God wills a family!

I want to wish you a Merry Christmas my love.  I will burn a candle for you as I hold you close to my aching heart.

Well Dave, 
It’s been a while since we spoke here.  I’m sure you are near me always.   I always think of you and feel you around me .   Miss you like crazy. Christmas 2019 has passed and it was still not the Christmas’ we used to have with you on this earth.  

I’m sure you see all the changes going on.  Micheal and Lauren are married now and living in the US!  I’m Sure you were there as I felt it!  

I am going for a new treatment some time this month for my illness. I’m afraid but I can’t live like this anymore. Too much pain and I need to get off the current treatment of steroids. I’m

I need to talk to you ! When you were here it didn’t get so bad and you always consoled me when I needed it.   I pray you are with me through this treatment. My Angel. 

Kris and Sara are doing well!  Of course our little bundle of joy Mara is adorable and now 2 years old. Was great watching her open gifts at Christmas! Wish you were there.  She makes me smile even when I’m down or in a lot of pain . 

Well here’s to 2020 moving forward! Looking forward to a much better year!  Thinking positively about good health and happiness!

It has been a while since I spoke to you here. I still miss you like crazy. I am still lonely with out you!  A few birthdays have gone by and so much has happened! Mostly our beautiful Granddaughter!  I know you watch over her and you would be so happy with her.  I'm sure you have met her. I only wish you were on this earth together with your beautiful family.   I still ask God to tell you how much I miss you every night.   I feel you beside me when I'm really down but you know Mara really helps me to  put a smile on my face. I can only imagine you playing with her and one day her calling you Grandpa!  Sara and Kris live in the house we raised  Kris and Mike in and now they will raise Mara there. I think you would take comfort in knowing that they are doing an amazing job raising her.  She really is beautiful and smart!  Michael has met a beautiful girl Lauren and is so happy with her. I'm sure you know he is still in school and working hard to find his calling. You sure have something to be proud of as you raised two great boys!   

I really wish I could say that I have moved on. It's been hard and my heart is still black. I ask God to help me  move on and lift my spirit .  I didn't think it would be so hard. I guess it is hard to make your heart not feel what it does.  You always give me signs you are watching over me. The dimes that I find everywhere,  I call them pennies from Heaven, the feathers , the dreams.  These always make me smile and sometimes cry. 

I love you and always will. And as you would say on your birthday (even though it's late). Happy  unbirthday! 🌺. Please keep watching over your family!  😇

Well Poppa Garvs, according to Toronto time you are officially 56 years old, happy Birthday Dad. It seems as time goes on I miss you more and more; but somehow keep moving forward to work on becoming the man you and mom always knew I could be. Living in the South for one more year to better myself to get to my next "chapter" of life as you would say. AS always your presence will be greatly missed not just on your birthday--being a day where you would always come home with a gift for each of us, but also leading up to our Canadian Thanksgiving which you always found a way to make so special. 
Ill be sure to have a slice of pie and piece of cheddar cheese with it. Miss you more than you know.

Dave, I'm thinking about you once again especially since Christmas  is fas approaching. I miss you like crazy! It's been quite a struggle to move on with out you in my life.  I guess you will always remain my soul mate. I am so lonely and wish you were here. I know you are watching over me and  I know you are now my angel but it's just not the same without you.  The boys are doing well and I'm sure you have seen Kris catch his deer! In fact I think you were there. Michael is working hard at university and has applied to med schools. He should find out in February which one he will be accepted to. I know you have guided the boys and that you are so proud of them as I am!  Well, they sure are Garvie's!  I don't know if you hear my prayers every night Dave but I pray that The Lord lifts my burdens and lets me move on and be the person I can be and I ask The Lord to tell you I miss you and I love you so much. I know one day we will be together again but for now know that I am trying to move on and my heart is still healing.

Dave, it's your son Kris' friend Dave, from around the corner in Valleywood. I will never forget the times you walked over to my house on Astoria place, and just needed someone to talk to. Someone who would understand what you were going through. I wish you were still around. I have this memory of you watering your beautiful lawn holding a beer in your hand. And another memory of you sitting on my porch, asking for help and advice on how to deal with your struggles of that time. I want you to know that I am healthy today and you'd be proud of me. You were one of the few who knew of my personal struggles. I'm sure you're watching over us all. Kris has managed to stay strong and has accomplished a great deal. You would be extremely proud of him. I hope to see you again one day up there in the clouds. My deepest sympathies to Diana, Kris, and the family.

Poppa Garvs, I love and miss you so much till this day...time has not healed my wounds however it has merely helped in coping with your absence. It has also instilled a burning fire to look forward to one day reminiscing with you in the kingdom of eternal life way down the road. I just read a card from you that you gave to me when my Journey in the US was about to start (AUG 2009) going to my first year of University In Wisconsin...and it was then that you told me to "follow your dreams-make them happen...But when you fall "GET RIGHT BACK UP" because you are a GARV with "STAMINA AND PERSEVERANCE" I wish like crazy I could talk to you and Physically hear those words again during this time in life which I am  experiencing a bumpy road. But I think through reading the card I have already found what you might say to me. 
I'll forever cherish and love you Poppa Garvs and hope to make you proud by becoming the man that Mom And You always believed I had the Potential to be.

I hope you and your words that I need to hear from time to time are nearest when I need it most and watching over me. Miss your guiding and calming words like you would not believe.

WOW, I just found out of your passing this weekend from my son Rob. I would like to express my deepest condolences to the boys and Diane. As I remember Dave was always the life of the party, I will never forget this man and will always cherish the memories we had back in the days of our boys playing hockey, and I still can hear that grainy,raspy voice that only Dave had. I can't believe that one year has passed.  It seems like yesterday you were here.  My heart still aches for you everyday! I know you are watching over us and you are in a happier state but I long to be with you again. Your legacy will live forever. Your boys remind me of you. You would be so proud of them today! I know you have watched over Kristopher and his racing! I am sure you know how well he has done this year and how blessed he is.  He is tied for 4th in the superbike/national! Thats in all of Canada! He came in 3rd in the 600 in all of Canada and 1st in the regionals in both classes!  Thank you for keeping him safe! Michael is missing you so very much Dave! Back at school and working very hard. As for me, I find it hard to move on even though I have to. I have to leave it in Gods hands and I know he will look after me.
I feel your spirit with me daily and that gives me some comfort. One day we will meet again! I love you so much Dave and I know your love for me was like no other!

Dave, one month today we lost the love of our lives. Our hearts are so filled with sorrow. We miss you so much Dave.
