Dennis Malone

January 29, 1965February 5, 2020

It is with very great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Dennis Edward Malone (Jan 29 1965), of Brampton, Ontario.

Beloved husband of Sarah, very proud dad of Samantha, Susan and Jacob, loving grandfather of Caida, Analise, Justin, Jared, Ayvin and Everlee.

Brother of Larry, Cathy, Debbie, Bonnie (Brad), Ronnie, Sharon (Darren), Terry (Josie), Lynne (Ed), June (Terry), Jean (Rick).

He was an inspirational mentor to many throughout his 25 year career at the City of Brampton, first in Recreation and later in Parks. He made it his mission to educate himself and learn new skills, that he could pass along to others.

His love of music, compassion for animals, knowledge of computers and reputation for spirited conversation were touchstones in his life, but he found his greatest joy in his children and grandchildren.

He was predeceased by mother June (1969) and father Dennis (2019).

As we wish him a gentle journey into the night, in lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to the City of Brampton Animal Services HOPE Fund or a cat/animal rescue of your choice.

In accordance with his wishes, Dennis' remains have been cremated.

My little brother Dennis was truly a special person in my life and everyone else's I'm sure. We shared a lot of the same interests and had many laughs together. We worked as security at a Star Trek convention together which was hilarious. I cannot begin to tell you how much we learned from each other through our trials and tribulations growing up but we always helped each other to come to the best result. I loved my brother very much and I could write about his great qualities forever but I'm getting too sad to continue. Please know Dennis that I will never stop thinking of you and will cherish your memory.

Dennis was the man I thought I’d never meet…his broken and my broken together formed a strong, healing partnership, full of love, laughter and sharing that continued to grow, every moment, every day. He was my person. And I was his.

I miss him, and struggle to find an understanding of losing him…

In the big scheme of things, I knew Dennis very little, and for a relatively short number of years. But what I knew from the day I met him is that he brought love and happiness to my sister Sarah's life at a time when she needed it most. He became her partner in all things, and filled a hole in her heart like no other could have. He was present and consistent in his co-parenting of my nephew Jake, teaching him that someone other than this mother and blood relatives could love him unconditionally. And for these gifts to my family, I am grateful and will miss him. Rest well, Dennis.

We all worked with Dennis at the Flower City Seniors Centre, and when we first met Dennis he was very pleasant and you could tell he was a hard worker. Working with Dennis you always knew when he meant business. He would give you “the look” and that was your cue listen and learn from his many years of experience with the City of Brampton. Dennis was someone we always respected, he made us all laugh and entertained us with his recordings of prank phone calls as Arnold Schwarzenegger. Coffee breaks were another great example of Dennis’ generosity; he wouldn’t ever allow you to pay as he would always make sure everyone’s order was taken care of with his Tim’s card. One time I forgot my lunch at home and without telling me he went to the Filipino restaurant across the street from our work and bought us both lunch so that we could enjoy our break together. His love for fixing things was obvious right from the start here, earning himself the nickname “MacGyver”. The things that Dennis would build and create from nothing was incredible, even sometimes having to create tools that didn’t exist, just to make our work life easier. He loved vacationing in Montserrat and would take tools with him every time he went so that he could help the people there, planning weeks in advance how he wants to help the locals while “on vacation” truly shows what a kind and caring person he was. I’m sure when Dennis closed his eyes God reached out from above, took his hand and said “you did God’s will on this earth, now it’s time to come with me to paradise”. Dennis Malone, until we meet again. One love.

We will always remember Dennis with the fondest of memories here at the Animal Care Clinic, and hearing of his passing has devastated us all.
I have known Dennis for years since our first introduction to the "crazy musical cat people" that we love so dearly here.
His huge kind heart, hilarious humour, and simply the palpable love and dedication to his family, friends, and pets will never be forgotten by all of us!
Our thoughts and sympathies are with you Sarah and family.
Brenda & all of us here at the Animal Care Clinic.

I would like to send my sincerest condolences to Dennis’ family. I worked with him for a few years in recreation and learned a lot from him. He was always willing to teach or show you a different way of approaching a task.

Dennis was a great conversationalist with a ton of knowledge on numerous subjects.
He was also a very generous man and I will always remember the little things that he would do for every body around the building.

I am grateful to have had the opportunity to not only work with Dennis, but to also get to know him personally.

Where ever your next journey takes you, thank you for everything. Rest easy friend. You will be missed here.
