Derrick was that and so much more to many.
Born on Friday the 13th, Derrick may have been dealt some unlucky cards, but he knew how to turn any negative into a positive. After fighting a courageous battle against Cystic Fibrosis, which lead to a double lung transplant (2017), Derrick peacefully passed due to complications related to his Post Transplant Lymphoma surrounded by his wife and family at Juravinski hospital.
Derrick loved fiercely. He was a beloved husband to Stephanie. Best friend to his father Derrick. Glue to his siblings Kaitlyn (Kyle), Kourtney (Ryan) and Cole (Rebecca). A super hero uncle to Blake, Byson, Calie, and Paige. Treasured by his in-laws Steve, Kathy, and sister-in-law Alexandra. Adoring grandson to Patricia and Beulah. Dog Dad to Paisley and Jack. Loving nephew and cousin. Derrick is pre-deceased by his mother (Debby), and grandfathers (Doug Snow and William Poland).
