My sincerest condolences to Helen's loved ones. I sadly learned today of the paasing of this remarkably strong, artistic and elegant lady. Helen was my studio neighbour in the first days of Beaux-Arts Brampton. She worked countless hours to estabish the gallery there and was excellent at so much.

I first met Mrs. Purvis when I was 8 years old, moving next door at 43 Campbell Drive. Jane (her daughter) and I became quick friends and that frienship lasted until her passing away at such a tender age of 38.
Mrs. Purvis always treated me as her own, often adopting me for summers when my family moved back to Quebec. At my wedding she was my master of ceremony. Such an elegant, caring, loving woman. So many good memories - she will forever be in my heart.

Kind and generous to a fault. Always willing to help. As a memebr of the executive of Brampton Tennis Club, Helen was always a willing contributor.

Our sympathies to the family.

I extend my deepest sympathy to the family of Helen. I painted with Helen at the Humber Valley Art Club and admired her talent as an artist. She will surely be missed by all her colleagues and art friends.

On behalf of the Humber Valley Art Club, I wish to say how sorry we are to hear of Helen's passing. I only knew Helen for about 5 years when she was the Treasurer for our club; a volunteer role she gladly undertook for more then 2 decades, and one she performed with a high level of excellence. As a painter, Helen created pieces of art that spoke with her voice and vision. So many of our members had Helen as their dear friend, and will miss her infectious smile and kind nature.

Helen was one of the strongest and kindest women I have ever met and despite all the losses in her life she still managed to give and smile. She was truly a caregiver. Her soothing voice and keen interest in everything you were doing always made you feel better. Everyone and every animal she gave a home to had a special place in her heart and you felt it. I have many special memories of her and David and our times together that will never be forgotten.
God bless. Now you are truly at peace with your loved ones.

My friendship with Helen goes way back to her DHI job and her activity with the Brampton Figure Skating Club with her daughter. Whatever she did, she did it to the very best of her abilities and she had so many abilities. A wonderful painter- activity that brought great joy to her life. A lovely lady that will not be forgotten by me. Dianne Sutter from Sauble Beach and Brampton

Helen, the moment I meet her at Beaux-Arts Brampton her kind smile and wonderful way with people just locked her into my heart right away.
Over the years I have grown to respect, love and admire her for her wonderful way of painting, her patience with helping others, her joyful painting fairy when one of the paintings was just not so always made me laugh. Tea time and some home baked goodies were a special time for both, or that sip of wine.
I will truly miss you my Dear Friend, but also am comforted that you are now with your loved ones that you spoke of so highly.
Rest in peace and my love is always with you
