James Edward Stacey (Jimmy), passed suddenly but peacefully on May 18, 2024, at his home in Brampton, Ontario. Born November 10, 1933 (90 years old) in Montreal to James and Catherine, he was the second youngest of his five siblings, predeceased by Rose, Art, Dorothy, and Thelma, and survived by his youngest sister Joan. Jim leaves behind his best friend and loving wife Karen, children Carolyn and Dan (Sarah) and his grandchildren, Emily, Samantha (Davis) and Timothy (Alex).
Jimmy was known for his tremendous storytelling, his kind and soft demeaner, and his ability to make anyone in the room smile and laugh. He often reminisced on his life growing up in Montreal, playing baseball and hockey with his friends. He married his soulmate, Karen, on November 21, 1959, in Montreal, and soon after started his family and moved to Sherbrooke. Later the family moved to Brampton in 1978. He lived a full life. He was a devoted manager at Ingersoll Rand, with a career spanning 50 years.
Family was everything to him, often saying “we are what he lives for”. He was the epitome of what a man, husband and father should be. He had the kindest soul, wanting to talk to and meet everyone he saw. He was a shoulder to cry on, and an ear to listen. He was the definition of comfort. He will live in our hearts forever.
He will be remembered as a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, and friend. We love him, and we will miss him dearly. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Heart and Stroke Foundation to honour Jimmy.
Private Celebration of Life will take place in the near future.
