It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the Carvalho family announce the peaceful passing of Joao Silvestre Carvalho at Brampton Civic Hospital, following a brief illness with family by his side throughout his final days. Beloved husband of Olga (De Amaral ) for 47 years. Loving father of Elaine ( Louie Theodoratos). Cherished grandfather of Elias and Tiana. Survived by brother: Alvaro and sisters: Margarita, Manuela, Conceção. Joao will be missed by his extended family and numerous friends here and abroad. Family and friends may gather at the Andrews Community Funeral Centre - 8190 Dixie Road, Brampton (North of Steeles Avenue) 905-456-8190, on Sunday, February 5th, 2017 from 2pm-4pm and 7-9pm. A funeral service will be held in the Chapel of the funeral home on Monday, February 6th, 2017 at 11 am., visitation 1 hour prior to service. Interment at Assumption Catholic Cemetery, 6933 Tomken Rd, Mississauga, ON. He was loved in life and will not be forgotten in death. Donations in Joao’s memory may be made to SickKids Foundation.
