Dear Linda and family,
I just learned of your Dad's passing today. My sincere condolences to you and your family.
You don't know me but I grew up in the Belfountain community also. John and I are the same age and started school at SS # 6 Belfountain on the same day and went through public school and high school together.
We saw each other very occasionally over the years as I left the area and ended up in Ottawa where I am now. John was a terrific guy, as you know, with a wonderful sense of humor and perspective.
A very long time ago my father and John's father Stewart, who were best of friends, took John and I to a Toronto Maple Leafs hockey game at Maple Leaf Gardens. We were probably about 12!
I last saw John at a funeral in Belfountain a few years back and he was talking about you and your family.
Best

Sadened to here of John's passing. I hold a lot of fond memories of our public school years late 1940s in Belfountain. A lot of good times with a true friend. I will not forget. Dave Corbett

Although we only had met a couple of years ago, I always enjoyed our chats at the bar. I will dearly miss you, and wish I had met you sooner.

My deepest sympathy to friends and family
I have only known John for a few years. In my experience he was always full of fun and had a sparkle in his eyes. It seemed the sparkle came from waiting with delight for people to catch onto his jokes, I know it always took me a minute! I loved that about him! His humor and ever ready smile will be missed by all.

Goodbyes are often hard to say,
they hurt so very much.
Though you're not gone.
You still remain,
in the minds, hearts, and lives you've
touched.
We will all miss you here at The Clock.
