

Lumbertus Gomes was born on September 19, 1932. He was educated at St. Anthony’s High School, Lahore and thereafter graduated from Gordon College, Rawalpindi, Pakistan with a B.A.
After graduating, he very quickly moved into his career. He started his career as an Accountant at various construction companies and then progressed and was working at the Canadian High Commission for 11 years.
On May 21, 1956, he married his wife of 57 years Louisa Shalom. He is a proud father of four sons and three daughters. He is remembered by his loving wife and 45 descendants, which include his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Lumbertus was a man of faith, he practiced dutifully both in Pakistan and when he migrated to Canada on October 3, 2003. He loved the Rosary and was a devotee and prayed very passionately on a daily basis. Lumbertus was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, and served at the St. Anthony of Pudua Council. He loved the association with his brother knights and was always talking to family and friends about his brother knights. He also served with St. Vincent DePaul Society in Rawalpindi and in Brampton; he proudly served as President at both of locations.
He thoroughly enjoyed time with his family, friends and loved ones. He loved to celebrate every event wholeheartedly. He would use his very creative mind to hand make cards and messages for the reason of the occasion.
A loving husband and father, a doting grandfather and great-grandfather he will be missed by all his friends and family.
Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord. Let perpetual light shine unto them. May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in Peace. Amen.
