In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it's the memories of you that are the most precious.

I am not saying goodbye but I am saying I am sorry for not spending more time with you. I have realized over the last few years during the loss of family and friends that time needs to be cherished as it is short and unpredictable. Grandma as the oldest grand child I want to say thank you for all the great memories from the summers at the cottage to swimming in your pool, finally the great holiday meals we shared will always be with us. You are better now grandma no more pain. I am sure there are many people up there with you now that missed you and are happy to see you. Say hi for me. Grandma you might be gone but you will never be forgot. Love you
