It is with broken hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Maria Di Prospero at Etobicoke General Hospital on August 2, 2023 at the age of 91. Beloved wife of the late Giuseppe Di Prospero. Loving mother of Vince (Carmie) and Angelo (Angie). Dear Nonna of Jason (Aimee), Sonia, Victoria and Joseph. Maria was born on July 30, 1932 in Sora, Frosinone, Italy.
She came to Canada in 1958 with her husband and family. She worked at Canadian Linen, MIO Pop Factory and then a homemaker raising her two boys. She loved gardening, making homemade pasta and her famous Ciambella bread. She will be forever loved and missed by all her family, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbours. Her legacy of love, compassion, and kindness will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
A visitation will be held at Andrews Community Funeral Centre, 8190 Dixie Rd, Brampton, ON L6T 5N9, on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 from 9am – 11:30am. A Funeral Mass will take place at 12:30 pm at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 940 North Park Dr. Brampton, ON L6S 3L5. Private entombment at Beechwood Cemetery, Concord, Ontario.
