It is with deep shock, sadness and sorrow that we share that Mervyn Eldred McKean was called to glory on April 26, 2026. Mervyn was born in Collingwood on May 21, 1943. He is survived by his wife, Beverley Marie McKean (nee: Volpel), their daughter Tammy McKean, and granddaughter Quinn Shoram from Vermont. He also leaves behind son Michael McKean and his wife Angela (Crawford) from Cambridge. Grandson Wade Breau and wife Caleigh (Smith), and great-granddaughter Audrey, also from Cambridge.
Merv liked to fish creeks from here to Collingwood. He would be excited for the start of trout season. He was an avid philatelist and belonged to the Bramalea Stamp Club since he retired from the TTC after 30 years of service, at age 54. He also belonged to TOPS. He had a love of movies at home, he loved music of all genres, but mostly Country in his later years. He also played the violin.
Merv and Bev liked to travel, especially cruising! Their longest cruise was 60 days around South America. Merv led an adventurous lifestyle, which led to great storytelling. He loved to read, which encouraged his love of adventure.
He will be missed by so many. Our Lord will take care of him now, as always, until we meet again. So long.
