Muriel Midge (Doucette) Sullivan

May 20, 1929September 28, 2019

Surrounded by loved ones including her husband Denis of 67 years, she passed away on September 28, 2019 at the age of 90. Midge was predeceased by her siblings Fr. Aurele Doucette, Adeline (Crant), Donald Doucette, and Kenny Doucette as well as her grandson Adam Sullivan. Survived and lovingly remembered by her 15 children: Patricia (Allen) Good, Sheila (Bob) Edmonds, John (Sonja), Tim (Linda), Kathy (Rick) LeBlanc, Therese (Kevin) West, Denis (Anna), Brian (Cheryl), Peter (Heather), Paul, Tom (Kathryn), Brigette (Pat) Swoboda, Dan (Michelle), Ken (Carrie), Kevin (Kerry) as well as her 43 Grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. Her lessons in life will live on for generations. Midge was a true inspiration and role model who found joy in the happiness of others and truly lived every day of her life putting the needs of others ahead of her own. Her generosity of spirit, genuine kindness and concern for others and above all her unconditional love will continue to be an inspiration for those of us who had the privilege of knowing and loving her. She will be deeply missed and never forgotten, especially by those of us who had the honour of calling her “Mom”, “Gramma” or “Dear friend”. In honour of our mom’s unconditional love of all children, please consider a donation to SickKids Foundation or a children’s charity of your choice in lieu of flowers.

Sincere condolences to the extended Sullivan family.

We were next door neighbors to the Sullivan family on Cathcart Cres and I understand Mrs Sullivan saved my life as an infant from choking. Thank you for being a friend to our family (Gerald and Joesephine Geraghty) and God bless.

There will be days which her spirit will come to you, warming you with a memory
A Memory. It may be the smell of lilacs, the site of the same apron she wore, a verse she loved, or a simple fleeting gust of wind.
We may not know how, or when she comes to us, but one thing that is for sure, there is no memory stronger than -Mom

God rest her soul

My heart felt condolences to you and your family

My deepest sympathy Denis & all the family. I'm so thankful we had our visit last Tuesday, when you and Midge greeted me with
your welcoming smiles, as always.
Our friendship of over 50 years warms my heart and so many
memories of our Cathcart days and afterwards will be cherished
forever. Midge's love of family & friends sparkled every day of her life and I will treasure those memories like precious jewels.
Her sweet personality shone through even in times of difficulty.
As you remember the love and mourn the loss, may you also
celebrate Midge's life. May God give you comfort and strength
in the days ahead and peace that Midge is in God's hands.
Love & prayers, Wendy Conlon

The loss of Aunt Midge has me thinking that not only did a family losse a matriarch but the community of Bramalea lost a vital contributing member of the community. An inspiration that had 44 of her own Grandchildren to keep tabs on but always had an idea what I was up to. She raised some of our best educators, was always a warm face to see at Sunday Mass and was generous with her garden. I look up to her as a pioneer in the area and hope to be the kind of neighbour she was. Trick or treating at her home through the 90's she always had special refreshments awaiting our arrival, it was always a push to get all they way to her home, we were always one of the last to get there but always something special (usually a juice box) waiting before we made the walk back with our haul. A moment to sit and share a smile was always sure to happen in her presence. My heart is with all members of her incredible clan, she sure was special, and shared with the world only the best she had to offer. Her kind disposition can be seen through the generations and just might be around until the end of time! Sending my love: 1-5-7-1

My sincere condolences to all of the beautiful Sullivan clan. "Mrs. Sullivan" (Midge) sure left an amazing legacy behind. I treasure the memories of many days and nights spent in the Sullivan household (as if she needed another child running through her house!). I always felt welcome and very loved. She was a beautiful woman who always seemed to have a smile on her face and a sweet giggle not too far behind that. My thoughts and prayers are with you all! Much love, Penny
