I have very fond memories of working with Rhoda, both at BLT and at the City of Brampton Council office for two summers, when I was her "assistant". Truth to tell, there wasn't much work done in that office - it was mostly laughter!!!  My favourite memory is of Rhoda dashing in to work in the morning - wet hair, no makeup, and picking up her standing order of salmon on toast with tea at the Cafeteria next door.  My sincere condolences to George, Corie and Derek.

I don't think that any young girl had a better babysitter than I did,  I will truley treasure all the wonderful memories of running around the huge office buildings in Glasgow with Rhoda,going ice skating on Saturday mornings and trailing to the movies with George and her.  I didn't see George and Rhoda often after we moved to California and they to Canada but she was always a part of my heart.

Rhoda, you were utterly fearless.  You always spoke your mind – and never backed down from the good fight.  You were brilliantly funny – a force of nature on stage and off  – and an inspiration of quiet joy and easy laughter.  You were often generous, and always thinking of others.  I was often moved by how unexpectedly kind and gentle you could be.
You and George (that's St. George) helped our family through countless hardships, and I am so grateful for your influence on our lives.  You and our mother, Julie, were instant companions – you had the most precious and lovely friendship I have ever seen – I learned what friendship was by knowing you.  Your extraordinary influence on our mother's personality and life (and so on ours) was beautiful, rich, colorful and sweet.  
Even now I cannot forget the deep longing and anticipation I felt as a child for that next Begley visit - and  these are among the sweetest memories of my young life.  We deeply loved you and George and felt in you a profound warmth and light.  It was on these visits that the children among us (Corie, Derek, Sue, Simon & Adrian) descended into the basement to labor for hours on our precious ‘shows' – ultimately to ascend back up onto the living room stage for your infectious laughter and applause!  Especially yours, Rhoda!
Sweetest Rhoda, you were our aunt, but also our mother.  Have an extraordinary journey.

George, Corie, Derek & families, I'm so sad to hear of Rhoda's passing. She was such an amazing force & light to those who knew her. I'll remember her wisdom, her stories, but I'll also remember her booming laughter ... And her crazy experiments when cooking us Kraft Dinner as kids! She was a big part of my childhood. Rhoda was a truly amazing person.  So full of fun, laughter, confidence, compassion and intelligence...and a great cook.  She truly was 'one in a million'.
