It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Yolanda Largado Villaruz, who peacefully entered eternal rest on January 6, 2026, at Credit Valley Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was 87 years old.
Yolanda was born in Boac, Marinduque, Philippines, the third of seven children, to Lazara and Restituto, both of whom predeceased her. From a young age, she dreamed of building a better life for her family. Through faith, hard work, and perseverance, she lived a life marked by love, humility, and quiet sacrifice.
She was a cherished wife to her late husband Emilio, a devoted and loving mother to Olivia and Jude, Virginia and Cristina and Matt, and a doting grandmother to four beloved grandchildren, Stephanie, Denise, Anna and Bianca, who were a constant source of joy and pride in her life.
Family was always her greatest blessing. She gave herself fully to her husband, children, and grandchildren with a generous and selfless heart. Guiding her three children to complete their education was among her proudest accomplishments.
Later in life, Yolanda made her home in Canada, where she continued to live simply and faithfully.
Rooted deeply in her faith in God, Yolanda taught those around her to face life’s challenges with courage, trust in the Lord, and gratitude for His blessings. She will be lovingly remembered as a woman of deep faith, quiet strength, and unconditional love.
She leaves behind her three children and four grandchildren, who will forever carry her love in their hearts.
