KARCZEWSKI, Alma L., 78, of Valrico, entered into rest Wednesday, February 5. Alma was born in Lithuania and fled from there to Hannover, Germany during the war at younger years and at the age of 21 she came with her Mother, Maria, in 1956 to Chicago, Il. It was in 1958 she came to work at the A&P Bakery and met Charles, they went together for 2 years and fell so much in love and got married, had a beautiful son and life was perfect together for another 53 years. The family travelled a lot touring the country which brought out Alma’s talent for painting and poetry. She loved nature and the landscape around the family home was an example of her love for gardening. Nature loved her back and now we believe she has returned to her favorite garden. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother. Survivors include her husband, Charles Karczewski; son, David Karczewski; daughter-in-law, Mary Hansen; and grandson, Ryan Karczewski. The family will receive friends 10 am-12 pm Wednesday, February 12 at Stowers Funeral Home, Brandon with a memorial service to follow at noon. Alma will be deeply missed by her family and friends, but will live on in their hearts and memories.

Chuck:

Both Alma and you will remain in our thoughts and prayers. While we share your grief in her loss, we want you to know that we are here for you. Although your house will miss Alma's presence and kindness, both her presence and kindness will remain in your heart to fill the void. We appreciate your fierce desire for independence, and we encourage you to remain active in the days ahead. But don't allow your pride to keep you from requesting any assistance from us.

I liked and admired Alma so much. She was a strong woman, spunky and never afraid to state her opinion. The kind of woman I hope to be when I grow up! We shared a passion for gardening, which we talked about at any gathering, and a great love for our husbands and our sons. I just plain liked her!

Little did I know that when we moved to Edmonds, WA I would live across the street of the dearest friend I will ever have. Sharing completed gardening projects and craft projects with each other was a joy so complete. May God wrap you in His loving arms and hold you at this sad time. With love and friendship always, Bob and Sharon
