I am very sad to learn of my uncle Alvan passing away. I remember how close our families were back in the 1970's. We would visit uncle Alvan, aunt Rose, cousins Greg and Michael often when they lived in Canada and they would visit us in Ohio. I have fond memories of uncle Alvan and my dad (Willie) playing their guitars with my brother Brian on drums rehearsing the songs they would perform at the annual Jamaican dance...those were good times. I recall visiting uncle in Florida in 2001 and our fun time at Disney World. I'm sorry that we grew apart over the years but I will always cherish the fond memories. As I am grieving the loss of my beloved uncle, it also gives me comfort to know that he is no longer in pain and is now in heaven.
