LOPEZ, Amalia, was born on September 15, 1924 in Tampa, Fla. and died on December 11, 2017 in Brandon, Fla. at the age of 93. In 1931, at the age of 7, Amalia and her family moved to Cuba. She graduated from school in 1942, married Teofilo E. Lopez in March 1956. They moved to the United States in May 1963, living in the Tampa Bay area until her death. She was preceded in death by her husband. Amalia is survived by her children, Maria Wells and husband, David, Emily Lopez, Ruben Lopez and wife, Cathy; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home, interment to follow in Hillsboro Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

I'm saddened to hear of the passing of this dear and loving friend to the Virelles family. I have many Sweet and wonderful memories of my youth in Tampa with Amalia and all the family. Amalia was always very kind, loving and generous to others and a true servant of the Lord. I know that this faithful woman will hear the words My good and Faithful servant from Jesus Himself. I want to share my love and condolences to each one of her precious children and grandchildren . I have so many wonderful memories with her and the Lopez family. God bless you all and know you are all in my prayers.
