It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Arlene Rae Pelon, who left us on October 19, 2025, at the age of 60. Born and raised in Tampa, Florida, on March 11, 1965, Arlene spent her entire life surrounded by the people and places she loved most.
Arlene was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Judy Taylor (2023), and her devoted significant other, Roy Johnson (2023).
She is the cherished daughter of Ed Carroll and the beloved sister of Edward Carroll. She was the loving former wife of Mark Pelon and the proud and devoted mother of Garrett and Trever Pelon. Arlene was also a loving and supportive figure to Roy Johnson’s children: BreAnn Taylor, Brandon Johnson, Dustin Johnson, and Ciera Antus. Arlene was overjoyed to be expecting her first grandchild in January—a new chapter she looked forward to with so much love and excitement.
For more than 30 years, Arlene worked at GTE (now Frontier Communications) in network translations. She took great pride in her work and built lasting friendships with her colleagues, who admired her dedication, knowledge, and kindness.
Arlene had a gift for nurturing life—both in her beautiful gardens and in the hearts of those around her. Her home was filled with plants she cared for like family, and she was happiest surrounded by nature and the people she loved.
She was known for her incredible generosity and compassion. Arlene gave freely to many causes and had a way of connecting with people who needed understanding and kindness. She was someone you could talk to about anything—she never judged, only listened, and offered love and wisdom in return. Her strong faith guided her through every season of life, and she always looked to the Father for strength and peace.
A gathering of friends and family will be held on Saturday, November 8th, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home, 2323 W. Brandon Blvd, Brandon, FL 33511. A celebration of life will follow at 3:00 p.m.
Arlene will be deeply missed, but her spirit and her unwavering faith will live on through her sons, her growing family, and the many lives she touched with her kindness and compassion. We find peace in knowing she is reunited with her mother, Judy, and her love, Roy, and rests eternally in the grace of God.
