Arturo Taboada, of Riverview, FL passed away on the 28th of June 2025. Arturo was born on January 4th, 1935, in Havana, Cuba he fled the Castro regime and brought his wife and daughter to the United States on March 5, 1962. He moved the family to Dover, NJ where he worked at his well-versed trade as a mechanic in Newton, NJ, and Rockaway, NJ. In December of 1975, he proudly became a U.S. Citizen with his wife and daughter. He returned the family to Florida in 1977 where they stayed. He is preceded in life’s final journey by his son, Arthur B. Taboada, and parents Arturo and Delia Taboada. Arturo is survived by his loving family; wife Susana Taboada; loving daughters, Dr. Susan “Dee” Taboada and Dr. Karen (Gil) Garcia; adored grandchildren, Gabriel “Nate,” (Elise) Kenny, and Peter Nathan.
Arturo retired in 1997 and enjoyed bowling, which became his passion. He was the proud bowling coach of the boy’s team at Treasure Coast High School in Port St. Lucie, FL. He was a Saturday Youth Bowling Coach at Super Play USA where he coached several young men to state finals; one of whom became a professional bowler. Arturo was always the individual you counted on to accomplish anything. He was always willing to give of himself and go beyond the extra mile. He was wonderful at any job that needed to be completed professionally. Remodeling homes, building campers in empty vans, fixing automobiles of significant value, taking things apart and putting them back together. His true joy was doing for his wife and children.
Arturo always made everyone he met feel appreciated and valued. His zest for life was contagious and shared by all who knew him. He was happy, funny, charming, and always had something kind to say. He will be deeply missed by those whose lives he touched. His magnificent spirit and all the wonderful memories he made will continue to comfort those who share his passion for life.
His family invites you to join them in a celebration of his life on Saturday, the 5th of July 2025 at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home and Gardens 2323 West Brandon Blvd. Brandon, FL 33511 from 4 to 6 p.m. EST.
