Upon his return to Jamaica approximately 20 years later he started his own contracting business and was quite successful garnering government contracts to construct roads and lay underground fresh water pipes for housing communities as well as various other infrastructure projects.
Audley sold his business and moved back to the U.S. where he resided in California, Georgia and finally Florida. During this time, his love of real estate and home ownership led him to become a successful appraiser for Wells Fargo bank until his retirement. He lived a happy life with his wife of 40 years, Ruby Cotterell, who also recently passed away.
Survivors include his eight children: Linda McNair, Audley Lloyd Cotterell Jr., Pamela Cotterell, Wayne Cotterell, Kevin Cotterell, Bruce Cotterell, Jason McKay and Paul Cotterell. Sisters: Dorothy Hossack and Monica Fenton. Brother: Owen Cotterell. Audley is also survived by many loving grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
