OBITUARY
Barbara "Barbie" Ann (Fleischman) Raiskin
April 10, 1961 – March 29, 2021
Barbara (Fleischman) Raiskin, passed away at age 59, surrounded by loved ones, on March 29, 2021. She was born in Oswego, New York and lived there until settling in Brandon Florida where she and her family made a beautiful life. Barbara is survived by her devoted husband David, her daughter Sarah, and son Spencer, her sister Mary Beth, and sister Laurie. She is predeceased by her mother Mary Jane, father Richard, and brother Charles. Barbara was known for her sharp wit, but more than that, simply loved to make people laugh. She loved the art of cooking itself, but more so, when it was to feed family and friends. It was the camaraderie and togetherness that underscored those two essential qualities.

I met Barbie in 2004 at Our Place. We didn't like each other at first cuz we are both confident, independent, tells it like it is kind of females! However, as the years went by we came to be very close. She loved you David!!! She talked about her love for her family every time we were together. And, boy...she loved to bake, didn't she?
Your family is in my prayers 🙏

Dave, Sarah, Spencer, MB & Laurie, That was a beautiful tribute to Barb. She was always so vibrant in every aspect of her life. Her enormous love for her family was always foremost in her life. Meeting her for the first time when she was about 10 years old hardly prepared me for the years I would come to know and love her. When Charlie & I had Kayli, she was the one who stayed @ our apt. for a week in case we needed some help...she was only 15. Barb was a beautiful woman and it is sad she was taken @ such a young age. I feel very blessed to have known her & to have spent quite a few special moments with her. Sincerest condolences to all of you as I know there will be a void where Barb was ever present. Keep her memory and love alive. Love & Blessings to All, Jan Mashburn & Family

We will always remember you for your love of life and the joy you gave all of us when you entered the room. We always had a blast when you guys lived on Long Island. It was hard to keep up the pace.
We really missed you when you left NY and even harder now that you have left us. Our prayers will always be with you.
Love ya, Jim & Phyllis

Dear Dave, Sarah and Spencer,
My dear memories of Barb are from our time on the PTA board at Limona, being Spencer's teacher, and having good times together with our kids on holidays. Barb loved all of you so very much and was especially proud of all of your accomplishments. She opened her heart and home with generosity and love. I cherish the time we spent together. My prayers are with you all for comfort and peace.
With much love,

Barbie was one of those people who lived life to the fullest. A beautiful woman with an indomitable sprit. Full of love, full of crazy and spice. We hold fun memories of her inherited story telling prowess. No matter how many times you heard the jokes or stories, she would have us laughing and crying at the same time. She gave freely and generously and leaves a lasting impression of love.
Our deepest condolences Dave, Spencer and Sarah, Laurie and Beth. You are in our aching hearts and in our prayers.

It was great to get to see Barb a couple years ago and meet her wonderful family. Barb was a brightly burning spirit and is gone way to soon. Her spirit lives on in her family. And what a wonderful legacy she leaves. She beamed with pride at the family and life she built after leaving Oswego. And after meeting all, I can see why.
Our sympathy for your loss.

Dearest Dave, Sarah, and Spencer,
There are no words that can be said to take away your grief for the loss of Barbie; a beautiful woman, wife, mother, and friend. Though I was a very shy person when I was younger, Barbie always made me feel so comfortable. Her beautiful smile was all I needed.
I'd like to believe that she has ascended and found her place among the stars....always shining brightly; looking over her family. May she rest in peace and love.
All of our love,
Josie, Andy, Chiara, and Giuliana

Barbara was a beautiful lady, mom, wife, and friend. Just knowing she was across the street from us was a comfort and a pleasure. Raising our children together and sharing the joys and challenges of every day life made the days pass quickly and the struggles seem so much less. I hope and pray that Barbara is in the company of those loved ones who went before her and feels God’s presence and eternal love that she so much deserves.
