Ortiz, Belisa E., 90, of Valrico entered into rest on Saturday, September 21, 2013. She was born on November 16, 1922 in La Vega, Dominican Republic. Belisa was predeceased by her husband Guillermo Ortiz; daughter, Noemi A. Arias (survived by Luis); and sons, Guillermo and Anselmo Jonatan Ortiz (survived by Marta). Survivors include daughters, Patricia Perez and Sara B. Buscemi; sons, Socrates Ortiz (Evelyn) and Jose B. Ortiz; sister, Aminta A. Martinez; brother, Miguel A. Echavarria; sixteen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. Belisa was an incredible woman that showed great love for her family and community as well. She was a very generous woman who sent offerings back to her home country to children in need through Compassion International. She was a proud member of The First United Methodist Church (Hispanic Congregation) in Brandon, Florida. Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 25 at 11:00 AM at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home, 2323 West Brandon Boulevard, Brandon 33511, with Memorial Services following at 11:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Belisa’s name to The First United Methodist Church (Hispanic Congregation) of Brandon, Florida.
