Smith, Bertie, 95, of Brandon FL. entered into eternal rest on February 24th, 2018 at home surrounded by her family and friends. Bertie was born in Atkinson County in Pearson GA on September 11, 1922. She was a loving and caring wife, mother , and grandmother She went home to the house of the lord to join her husband, Robert C. Smith; grandson, Robert “Chad” Draffin; parents, Joe and Stella Corbitt; sisters, Cleatis Riddle, Betty Joyce Sloan; brothers, Clyde Corbitt (Cleo) and Eugene Corbitt (Beverly). She is survived by her sons, Howard L. Smith, David Terrell Smith, Robert Glenn Smith (Diane); one daughter, Brenda Buchmeier (Bobby); one brother, Benny Joe Corbitt (Ethell); ten grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren as well as extended family and friends. A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
