Brenda was born May 27, 1960, in Clinton, IA. From an early age it was clear Brenda was a giving soul with an urge to help others even at her own expense. She became a mother at 17 and had her second child three years later. She worked various jobs, sometimes two or three at a time to support her family. She also worked at her parents’ store to help take some burden off them. Brenda always had a dream though of owning an RV and travelling the entire country. She decided to get her CDL in the meantime. Brenda had bigger goals though and earned her law degree from the University of Iowa and passed the bar in 2005.
As her parents aged Brenda decided to move to Florida to help take care of them. It didn’t take long to realize that her neighbors needed help with everyday things like cleaning so Brenda took her focus off law and opened a cleaning business. She successfully ran her business until her mom’s Alzheimer’s progressed to the point that she needed constant care. Brenda became her mom’s sole full-time caregiver for over thirteen years. She devoted herself to this up until the moment her cancer physically stopped her from doing so.
Brenda was an animal lover and never turned down any creature in need. Animals loved and flocked to her as well. She also loved all things associated with Halloween and Christmas.
Brenda is preceded in death by her wife, Dorene; father, Chuck; brother, Chucky; and niece, Jannette. She is survived by her mother, Madeline; sisters and brothers, Cherri, Jerry, Lois, and Jenny; daughters, Annette (Brian) and Christina (Patrick); grandsons, Ethan and Peyton; and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by all her friends and family.
