He was born in Aldrich, AL on May 19, 1929 to Carl Herman Brill Sr.and Ollie Mae Johnson. The
family relocated to Key West in 1942 where he graduated from Key West High School in 1947.
After graduation he attended Spartan School of Aeronautics in Tulsa Oklahoma and upon
returning home, enlisted in the United States Air Force where he would serve in the Korean
War.
His career as an airline mechanic continued after retirement at Tampa Executive Airport and
Peter O'Knight Airport, Davis Island . Following his second retirement he worked part time at
Otto's Hardware in Riverview.
Carl's love for airplanes and flying began at an early age. He earned his pilot's license at 16 with
Faraldo's Flying in Key West , and flew many hours in his beloved Piper Maule N12022. He was
an avid fan of all sports but baseball was his passion.
He was a member of Seffner United Methodist Church where he held multiple board member
positions through the years as well as serving as an usher. On Monday mornings you would find
him in the church kitchen preparing food for Meals on Wheels.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 52 years, Anna M.Brill and his brother,
Robert E. Brill.
Left to cherish his memory are his sister, Shirley B. Stewart, step daughter Patricia Nunez,
granddaughters Karen Tarr and Kathy Lopez, great- granddaughter Cassandra Tarr, nieces
Susan Stevens (Doug), Janet Nobel (John), Cheryl Moore (Chuck), great nieces Sarah Stevens,
Audrey and Abigail Moore and great nephews Jarrod and Jeremy Nobel and Wyatt Moore.
Carl was a gentle soul and will be remembered for his kind and generous heart. He was loved
by all who knew him. Although he will be greatly missed, he can now fly high for he has earned
his heavenly wings.
