It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Cerida Charon, a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, minister, and friend, who departed to be with the Lord on March 16, 2025, just days before her 66th birthday.
Cerida was born on March 22, 1959, in the Bronx, New York, and brought joy, compassion, and strength to all who knew her. She graduated from Morris High School in June 1979 and later earned her Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) credential through the University of the State of New York. With a heart dedicated to service, she spent many years caring for others with professionalism and deep compassion.
In addition to her career in healthcare, Cerida faithfully pursued her spiritual calling. She completed four years of theological training and became an ordained minister, dedicating her life to preaching the Good News of Jesus Christ. She lived out the command of Mark 16:15 (NLT): “And then he told them, ‘Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone.’”
Cerida was preceded in death by her loving parents, Enrique and Ana Charon, as well as her brother Luzaldo.
She is survived by her devoted siblings: four sisters Rosa, Sol Beanudia, Sol Eurania, and Sol Virtudes and two brothers—Jose Antonio and Quetzal. Cerida was also a cherished aunt to many nieces and nephews, all of whom will deeply miss her presence, guidance, and love.
Known for her gentle spirit, unwavering faith, and caring heart, Cerida often expressed her devotion to God with the words: “Praise the Lord!!!” Her favorite Bible verse was Psalm 34:1: “I will praise the Lord at all times; his praise will always be on my lips.”
Her life was a testimony of worship, compassion, and obedience to God’s calling. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
