Hello My Dear,
Yesterday was a hard day. I spent most of your birthday in reverie. Years of celebrations, loving gifts, and precious moments. All in honor of you and the joy you brought to our lives.

I could not speak with you yesterday, but today I can wish you a Happy Birthday on your 81st.

Hey, Dad. Yesterday marked the fifth anniversary of your passing. I debated if I should write something because you already know that I think of you every day. But I decided to leave one last memorial message to honor you.

I can’t thank you enough for being an amazing father. I know, as human beings, we all have flaws. But even on your worst day, I couldn’t be luckier to have both you and Mom as my parents. I appreciate you both for working as a team and being there for me, fully engaged in my life. You were not just there in person; you showed up with your actions and the decisions you made. Growing up, there were times when I needed space and pushed you away, but you stood firm and let me know that I could always depend on you. You were the truest definition of a father, a provider, a protector, and a fearless teacher. You taught me a lot, not just with empty words, but by your actions and the life that you lived.

As a young child, you were a giant. You towered over everyone, and your presence was felt in every room you entered. You were no-nonsense to the world and did not play games when it came to your family. Thank you for putting your family first. And yes, you took care of business, but you were also so extremely funny. You would share childhood and old Air Force stories with Chris and me. You had us laughing for days. I remember playing board games with you, especially during hurricanes, and you were all about the jokes. To this day, Chris and I still reminisce, trade memories, and chuckle. After you passed, I was so devastated in grief, and Chris reminded me how funny we were, and remembering those times and allowing myself to laugh brought me peace. I will always remember you that way, not only for what you did and what you stood for, but for the personality and subtle traits that made you one of a kind. You are still a giant, even after passing; your presence is still and will always be felt. Until we meet again, with love... Chelsea.

I will always remember my uncle as a kind and loving person. The world lost a great man. Uncle Charles I'll remember you with respect and love. How lucky I had you in my life.

My Dear Charles,
A sad remembrance. You left us today. Forty seven and one half years together, forty five as man and wife, leaves me with many, many memories good times, bad times, and times when we just appreciated each other for who we were and how we arrived at our various milestones.

I celebrate you today, my dear. My five years of mourning has left me with a calm and joy of our life together. Our children are grown and strong. Strength they garnered from you. For you taught them all they needed to know to make a life in this world, to survive and to thrive.

Continue to be at peace, my dear husband. All is well.

Happy Birthday, my Sweet! Your day is a special day when we can hold on to those so precious memories that we made over the years. Seems like family reunions often took the center of the day on your special day, but you and I still shared a loving and inspired time with each other.

Chelsea, Chris, Katrina, and Kenneth are celebrating you today. Their Dad was a power house in their lives. They are stronger for having you with them, encouraged by all that you taught them, and still loving you as Dad.

Father's Day 2025 was a special event. Our daughter and her granddaughters were here to pay homage and to celebrate family. I know you are looking down and smiling wide. Your family is flourishing, growing, and remaining strong. The foundation that you provided is holding steady.

Blessings to you, my husband. Thank you for all you provided, and the love and support you always showed to us.

Happy Father's Day 2025

My Dear Charles,
Please send a message to both of our mothers on this special day.
I know you will not mind being my messenger or my conduit. Please know that you, my dear, are so missed and loved. Your accolades are forth coming. Let Cora Lee and Hassie know they are missed, loved, and treasured. Happy Mother's Day to them.
Thank you, darling.

Thinking of you today!
We love and miss you!

My Dear Charles,
It does not seem that four years have passed since you left us. Each holiday season has become easier to celebrate, but my memories of you and your image still loom large, my love.

Your watchful presence has kept us from harm; I pray you will always be there for us, because we still lean on you very much.

All my love,
Your wife.

Happy Birthday, My Dear!
You are sorely missed these past three and one half years. We keep going, we keep you close, and we still love and miss you terribly.

There is joy, though, in celebrating the day you came to be. Rest Easy, my love.

Happy Heavenly Father's Day to my first Hero. You are missed more than you ever know. The grandchildren and great grandchildren miss you tremendously.

You will always be the center of our hearts.

Love you miss you Dad.

Happy Father's Day, my Dear! Always missing you, always needing you, forever in our hearts and on our minds, you remain the center of our world. Continue your restful sleep!

Dear Charles, I learned today that Ms. Ruby has passed into the Presence of Jesus. I know that you are there for her. To help her and guide her. My heart is broken at her leaving us, but that burden is made lighter knowing that you are there to Shepard her in her transition. Love to both of you this day.

Three years! I can't believe that much time has passed since I looked upon your face, felt your touch, or heard your loving voice.

We still miss and love you, sweet husband and revere you as a loving father. Your time away from us is felt each and every day.

Just know that you will always be loved.

Hey, my Dear,
I pray your eternal rest is calm, peaceful, and full of the love of your family. This has been a challenging year, but we are surviving.

Tarah has survived her ordeal, and always has you on the mind and in her heart. She is a joy.

The family is missing you more and more each day. It is coming up on three years since we lost you.

Forever in our hearts.

Happy Birthday, my Dear!
You brought so much joy into my life. Your children and I miss you terribly. Continue to keep watch over us.

Our precious great-granddaughters salute you and what you have made for them.

A look back to 2016 brought back those happy memories of family, togetherness, and loving unity. We overcame a great deal to be together and make our blended family a successful one.

All your children, grandchildren, and great-grands miss you terribly. Kendra sent a special greeting today in your commemoration. Rest easy and Merry Christmas.

Hello Dear,
Seems like I can't leave you a message without writing a condolence. Strange, but I will play.

We came through Ian fairly fine. No major damage. Our neighbor's tree found itself in our side yard, but he had it removed yesterday.
He did leave some panels there. They weren't ours so I placed them with the trash.

Your family misses you terribly. We know that God is with us because of you and Cora Lee. I know that you two are enjoying your talks and sharing many memories. You are so loved.

Hello Dear,
Just returned from the yearly visit to Katrina's. All are well and living their lives to the fullest.
Kaylee celebrated her 13th birthday. She is as tall as I am now.
Jaden is entering his junior year at Bridgewater State University. He is still a great young man, studious, well mannered, and just as loving.
Tarah now lives out-of-state, but she gets home as often as she can.
She came to spend an evening with me and slept over.
Sarai was her usual self. No hysterics, just playful and keeping at Kaylee's side.
It was a great visit, my dear. You were there for each and every step.

Happy Birthday, my Sweet! Your light still shines, your love is still felt each and every day. Continue to guide us, consul us, and love us.
We love you to the moon and back.

Dear Charles, our children have outdone themselves this past Mother's Day. We can be so p;round of those wonderful humans that we raised. Rest in Peace and Love. Your family is as strong as ever.
Love you, your wife.

Hello Dear,
Spring has sprung and we are busy doing the Spring things that use to be on your agenda. We miss you each and every day. Rest in love and Peace.

Hello Dear,
No special occasion, just a moment of remembrance and missing you. The family continues to go on. Birthdays are coming, school continues, and we all think if you, love you, and miss you each day.

Grandpa, You are deeply missed. Please continue to watch over us while we continue to keep your memory and love for you in our hearts alive. You are missed everyday! We love you IMMENSELY!

Hi Dad, I can’t bear to think of another Christmas without you. Not being to hear your strong deep voice or your tenderness of concern for your family. It’s been difficult not being able to pick up the phone and call you on Saturday mornings. I still look at your text messages you sent in the past to remind me of the sweet and caring gentle giant you were to all of us. You maybe physically absent but you will be ever present in our hearts. Love you always and forever. Your daughter, Trina aka: Mamabear

One Year today since we lost you, my love. I can't seem to "get going." Your light is still with me, as it shines around me, guiding me through the steps that I must make each day, whispering your words of encouragement in my ear, or holding my hand when I am at my most lonely moments.

You will always be with me, my dear. Our family is stronger because of your time with us. Your strength, your wisdom, and your love will continue to see us through our days.

Happy Thanksgiving, husband. Chels, Chris, Kenneth and I are gathered to give thanks this day for your presence in our lives and the earthly joy you brought to us. Katrina, Burke and their family honor you always. Stay at peace gentle husband. Know you are revered, remembered, and loved.

Happy Birthday, sweet husband! Your presence still looms large in your world, the world we created together as a loving blended family.

Your children, grandchildren, and great-grands love and miss you each and every day. My heart still hurts and I know it will continue to do so, but having you here with me for the time that I did will always be my greatest blessing.
Be at Peace, my love!

Charles, even though Mother's Day was not the same without you, Father's Day will be even harder.

I miss the "surprise" on the kitchen table, and your gentle prodding to open my gift. 45 years of celebrated holidays will be with me to provide some comfort.

My heart is still broken and will be for some time, but I still feel your presence, and that is my blessing.

My dear Grandpa, I miss you every day especially when I came down to Florida to support Grandma (GG), Mom, Uncle Kenny, Auntie Chelsea, and Uncle Chris. Your presence at home was deeply missed. I sat in your chair waiting for you to come around the corner to say, "Tarah, what are you doing in my chair?". You never came. I stared at your shoes near the door that you will never put on again. GG and I reminisce and laughed how you use to walk in and out the room about two to three times then you say something. I miss your laugh. I remember when my siblings and I came to Florida and mention steak & cheese, you knew we had to take a ride to Publix.

You & GG were there at my most proud events of my life, my college graduation and my wedding. At my college graduation party, I presented a plaque to you & GG for being influential in my life and grateful for wonderful grandparents. I planned my wedding in a month and getting a flight short notice would be so expensive, but I wanted you to be there and you were. My mom FaceTime you & GG to witness my wedding on my iPad 7 years ago. I felt you & GG's presence even though you were more than 1,200 miles away. You were so proud and so happy.

The best memory I have of you was surprising you for your birthday. We flew to Florida, got to the house and hid behind the door. You were coming home from the Y. You opened the door and we said, "SURPRISE!!" You had the biggest smile on your face and was so shocked. I didn't care if you were sweating, I gave you a hug anyway.

The last conversation we had, you were home. In pain but glad to be home with your family. We talked about football. It was always about football with us. Although you took Tom Brady, I forgave you, then my husband and I converted to a Tampa Bay Bucs fan. You asked if Momma Bear (my mom) will convert and I said, NEVER!

I know you are wrapped in God's arms and you are no longer in pain. I love you always and forever!!

-Tarah Lené Harris-Green

From: JayKay

Grandpa Charles,
Visiting Florida will never be the same again because we will miss seeing and spending time with you. Especially, when Grandma Gale and my Mom would take a ride to Publix and Kaylee and me stayed at the house with you. When I was a toddler, I would run around the house and the pool and you would try to catch me but there were many times you couldn’t. LOL! I loved watching basketball with you and talking about the various team and players because these moments always lead to interesting conversations.

Our greatest memory was when we flew from Boston to Florida to surprise you for your birthday. You had no idea, when you arrived home from working out at the YMCA that (Nana, Tarah, Tommie, Kaylee & myself) were on the other side of the door waiting to surprise you.

You always said “I was a good kid and I had a good head on my shoulders and continue to finish school and strive for greatness”. I intend to walk in your footsteps and strive for greatness!

Love Jaden K, Harris

Grandpa Charles,
You came to Boston on my 10th Birthday party and told me you will see me the following month. I was confused because I didn't know about the surprise Disney trip my mom had planned me but apparently you did. Although, my trip was not that long ago, during that same week, I still remember watching you and Grandma taking your time to clean the pool for Jaden and me. We had so much fun swimming all day. Thank you for being the strongest Great Grandpa ever! Grandma Gale you are a very strong woman and we love you!

Love Kaylee A.E. Harris

To our superhero Dad,

We would like to thank you for everything you have done for us. We wanted you to know that we feel so blessed to have you as our father. There are no words to described the love and security we have felt ever since you walked into our lives over 45 years ago.

You are person we always looked up to for guidance, security and encouragement. A father plays a crucial role in nourishing his child’s life. Your self-motivation played a crucial role in being successful in life. Mountains seemed like pebbles to us, and there was nothing you couldn’t not achieve in your own academic and career journey.

Although, your natural heart has stop beating, we know that you love for us will never stop.

Katrina and Kenneth

Chelsea and I grew up as childhood friends, being that said Mr. Dixon and Mrs. Gale were a big part of my growing up. I spoke to Chelsea the other day and she reminisced on how Mr. Dixon had taken us to a high school game, the one part I remember was that I had a test the next day, so I came with my book and was studying in the back of the car. I remember the encouragement that he gave for me to pass my test, even though Chelsea and I were going to hang out. You all always made me feel apart of the family. You were a great man will be sorely missed. On behalf of the whole entire Ross family we send our sincere condolences.

Such a wonderful man. He has been so supportive and sweet. Especially with my mom not being here, I felt so special having both Gale and Charles in my corner. He will be forever missed 😞

Dear Mr. Dixon,

Although we’ve only met on occasion, you were so warm and welcoming towards me every single time. I have always enjoyed conversing with you and have been touched by your genuine interest in my life and concern for me. Most people who know you laud your love for family, your high moral standards and your solid work-ethic, but I’ve also been privileged enough to see another side of you- a lighthearted one. Your sense of humor and powers of observation have always stuck with me.

Over the years, I feel like I’ve come to know you very well through Chris who has shared many stories and memories of you. He is truly the living proof of the impeccable values that you stood for and sought to inculcate in your children. Chris and Chelsea are a testament to how great a father you were.

You will be dearly missed but I know you are looking out for us from heaven and that gives us much-needed comfort.
Rest In Peace knowing that you were successful in your life’s work.
-Ananya

I want to give my condolences to my family,. Charles will be missed, watch over your family and continue to guide them.

Dearest Gale,
At times like this it's hard to know what to say. All I know is Butchie as we used to call Charles was always the captian of the of the team. Whether we played football or cowboys & indians, Charles always set a fine ex. for the rest of us growing up Ronald, John, Carolyn and myself. He is the last of the double first cousins as we refered to each other. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you and the family Gale. Please feel free to call us at any time that you might need too.
 Love Joe and Sue

I write these words as I hold back the tears that have been stalking me since Sunday. The pain comes from knowing a piece of me would be gone forever. Though it hurts now, I take solace in the fact that a part of you will live on through me. Not just in my blood but my character.

You not only taught me the things most dads teach their children, like how to ride a bike or throw a ball. You taught me how to face adversity head-on. You taught me that life wouldn't be easy, but that is why the taste of victory is so sweet. You gave me the tools I needed to be the best version of me I could be, even when the entire time I was trying to be you.

You were the only role model I ever had or needed. If I can someday become half of the man you were, it would be more than enough to conquer any obstacle life could throw my way. I will do my best to make you proud every day.

I love you now and forever.
Charles Christopher Dixon

Charles,

I only met you a few times, but from those few times I could tell how much you loved your family and how much they loved you. All my love and prayers to you and your family.

Nikki

My Condolences and deepest sympathy to the family. May God grant you peace that passes all understanding.

Charles, we'll miss you, dear friend, but will cherish the times we shared together. You've always been a good and kind soul, who made others feel important and loved. Our love goes out to Gale, your loving wife and partner, as well as to your entire family and to your many friends. You are spending Christmas at home in heaven.

My dear cousin always kept us little ones in line. He would always call us the little kids and when he was around we would act like soldiers. I will miss his greatness in the work force and determination to succeed. He was a role model for all. Rest well Charles aka Butch.

To my cousin Charles, (Butch),
I spent a lot of years calling you that. I want to say you were what a cousin was supposed to be when I was younger. Big, strong, intimidating, but very smart, level headed, and loving. I am gonna miss you, Rest In Peace,
         Tony

Throughout my life you have been my constant rock. When nothing else seems certain, I found security in you. I remember being a young girl playing in the backyard in Boston. I was with Angie. We were carving letters into a tree. Out of nowhere, a pack of dogs ran our way. Terrified, we ran to the backdoor and into the house. I remember looking up at you as you greeted us. You were our defender. You approached the door fearlessly and chased the dogs away. I remember feeling secure, comforted and protected. In one of my earliest memories of you, you set a precedent in my life which you’ve never broken. You have always been there for me. Thank you for always being my defender and for teaching me to have courage. I get my strength from you.
-Chelsea Gayle Dixon

My Dear Husband,
Our souls were joined for 45 years. I can't begin to tell you what our time together meant to me. The love, care, and respect that you showed and delivered to and for your family will always be your crowning glory.

You will have the love and respect of your children and your spouse. No man could have a more fitting tribute.

Grandpa,
You were truly amazing. You always welcomed us with open arms. My children surprised you for your birthday one year and they didn't want to come home. They wanted to stay in Florida with their great grandparents. My fondest memory if you was when you told me to sit and watch you play pool in which I did and still had no clue what was going on.
I will always cherish the time I spent with you. Please continue to watch over us while you rest in heaven.

Love you ALWAYS! There will never be a Grandpa like YOU! ❤️❤️

LOVE ALWAYS,
Kendra (Jaden, KayLee and Keem).

Charlie I will never forget our times at the Lewis Jr High School in Roxbury, MA. Or our playing basketball in Washington Park.
We did have a wonderful visit while I was in Tampa on business in 1997. We both worked for IBM at the time! You will be miss! Rest In Peace brother!
I love you!
