

KREWSON III, Charles Fleming, 81, of Tampa entered into rest October 1, 2013. Charles dedicated his professional life to public service in the field of Health Care Administration, first as an Air Force officer and then with the Department of Medicine and Surgery of the Veterans Administration in Washington D.C. Charles received numerous accolades for his work. After retirement he volunteered at the Library of Congress in the Geography and Map Division where he helped develop a research key for 17th and 18th century maps. He assisted in editing the Austrian Information Bulletin for many years and was awarded the Decoration in Gold for Services to the Republic of Austria. He also sang with the VA Musical Medical Chorus. Charles received his Bachelor of Science from the Pennsylvania State University and his Master of Science from the University of Southern California. He also completed additional professional studies at the University of Pennsylvania and Cornell University. He is survived by his wife, Margrit Beran Krewson; daughter, Caroline; and son, Charles IV. A graveside service will be held 9 a.m. Monday, January 13, 2014 in Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. John’s Episcopal Church, 906 S. Orleans Ave., Tampa, FL 33606 in Charles’ memory.
