Cumbie, Clifford “Wayne,” 67, a biomedical engineering director, passed away at Lifepath Hospice in Ruskin on May 7, 2016. Born in Pikeville, TN, Wayne was the son of the late Odice and Ruth Holland Cumbie. He is survived by his beloved wife, Shelley Murray Cumbie, of Seffner, son, Craig (Mandy), daughter, Sarah Cumbie Reckess (David), and two grandchildren, Owen and Anya Reckess. Also surviving are brothers B.J. (Sherry), Eugene (Brenda), sister Sonja Jackson, and many nieces and nephews. Wayne earned a BA in Business Administration from Tampa College, and was a pioneer in the biomedical engineering field. He held leadership positions at GE, Masterplan, Aramark and GlaxoSmithKline before retiring. A veteran, Wayne spent 10 years in the Army, serving a tour of duty in Viet Nam. Visitation will be Thursday, May 12, 2016 from 5-7:00 p.m., with funeral service on Friday, May 13, 2016 at 2:00 p.m., both at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home; burial to follow at Hillsboro Memorial Gardens.
