

Confesor Ortiz of Lithia, Florida was called to his heavenly home on May 27, 2025. He was 96 years old. The son of Aurelio Ortiz and Laura Alicea Prats. He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Leonor Edith Ortiz on May 17, 2020, who left her earthly estate to live with her Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. He was also preceded in death by his 4 brothers and 4 sisters. He is survived by his children and their family members James Ortiz, Norma Seber and her husband Waymon O. Seber, Janet Chambers and her husband Randy J. Chambers, 8 grandchildren & 11 great grandchildren.
Confesor, his parents, and siblings were all born in San Sebastian, Puerto Rico. When Confesor was 23 years old he married his childhood sweetheart, Leonor Edith Mounier on November 8, 1952. He loved his Country and enlisted in the United State Army serving during the Korean War. During the next few years, he and his wife had three children: James, Norma & Janet. When he finished his obligation with the Army, he and his family moved from Puerto Rico to Miami, Florida.
He later moved his family to New Jersey and was very well versed in the Bible and began his own congregation in Patterson while holding a full-time job at Transco Envelope Company.
In 1985, he moved with his wife to Brandon, Florida where his two daughters lived with their husbands. He was responsible for beginning two Spanish speaking congregations for the Church of Christ. He preached in the morning service at Nebraska Church of Christ, then in the afternoon he preached at the Seffner Church of Christ. He retired from preaching in 1988 to take care of his wife.
He leaves a legacy of a life that reflects faith in Jesus Christ, helping others, and a devotion to reading the Bible every day.
