Connie Darlene Vargas, a woman of profound Christian faith, peacefully went home to be with her lord and savior Jesus Christ at the age of 77 on September 11, 2026. Her deep devotion to God was beautifully reflected in her morning routine of reading and sharing daily devotionals, a quiet time of prayer and reflection that anchored her life in grace.
Connie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jim; son, Dennis "Cookie"; father, Dudley; mother, Coreen; stepfather, Bill. Her greatest earthly blessing was her family, whom she loved fiercely and prayed over daily. She is survived by her sons, Chris Knecht (wife, Mandy); Corey Knecht (wife, Marie); grandchildren, Alyssa, Ella, Cade; beloved dog, Chanel; and a multitude of other loving family members and friends. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love, kindness, and spiritual strength. Her family takes immense comfort in knowing she is now resting peacefully in her eternal home.
A funeral service for Connie will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 18, 2026 at Stowers Funeral Home, 401 West Brandon Boulevard, Brandon, Florida. Interment to follow in Garden Of Memories Cemetery, 4207 East Lake Avenue, Tampa, Florida. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.
