DeLois (Dee) Aline Brown (nee Carver) passed away on August 9, 2022 of natural causes. DeLois was born on July 3, 1933 at Ft. Benning, GA. Her parents, William and Emma (Pickerell) relocated the family to Ft. McPherson, outside of Atlanta. As a senior in high school, she met Joseph Eldred Brown and they married Dec 1, 1951. They moved the family to Brandon, FL in 1964 so Joe could start a new job.
Mom lived a life of service. On top of raising a wonderful family, she was active in the community. She was a multi-gallon blood donor. She was a Pink Lady at St. Joseph’s Hospital for over 25 years. She volunteered in the office at St. Francis of Assisi parish in Seffner. She cared for her friends and neighbors and made sure they were okay.
Her life taught us about family and marriage. She loved without condition. She honored her husband and nurtured her children. She was full of common sense. She and Joe loved to travel with their good friends, the Hutchinsons. They took trips to Hawaii, Greece, Norway, Amsterdam along with many cruises and other trips.
Maybe the major accomplishment of her life was raising four children and teaching them the value and importance of family. By their example and practice, DeLois and Joe instilled, in all the kids, a deep faith in God and love for Jesus Christ. We, all, love our family. We are close and enjoy spending time with each other. We hope and pray that we have instilled the importance and value of family to our own children.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years and two sisters, Ruby and Jean. She is survived by two sisters, Wilma and Nelda.
DeLois has four children, Theresa Ann Carter (David), William Eldred (Lynne), Catherine Elizabeth Brooks (Gary) and Joseph Conway (Rosemary). From these, she has eight grandchildren: Robert, Megan, April, Alex, Lauren, Joseph, Marissa and Kelsey. From these, she has 7 great-grandchildren: Jack, Liam, Edmund, August, Jaren, Zachary and NaKayla.
I lieu of flowers, please make donations to Lifepath Hospice. They provide wonderful and tender care.
