Diana is survived by her brother Tony Espinosa, son Derek Hottenroth, daughter Melissa Culler, granddaughter Monica Gonzalez, and great grandsons Jameson and Jonah. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Edwin Hottenroth, her parents Anthony and Lily Espinosa, and many uncles and aunts.
Diana was born on January 24 in Tampa, FL to Anthony and Lily Espinosa. She graduated from The University of Tampa with a degree in Elementary education, and went on to obtain her masters degree. She married Ed, her “crush” from the rec center, in 1965. After moving to Brandon, FL, Diana began working for Seffner Elementary as a third-grade schoolteacher. Over the next 5 years, the couple adopted 2 children into their home and Diana set about teaching them how to have fun, how to love, and how to put family first. Her children remember her, and their father as their biggest fans, attending every sporting event, dance recital, and all milestones in their children’s lives.
Diana was a person who welcomed anyone and everyone into her home and loved to entertain. She was passionate about her friends and family and never met a stranger.
A visitation is scheduled for Friday, March 27, 2026 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home, 2323 W Brandon Blvd, Brandon FL 33511, and all are welcome to come remember Diana the way she would want to be remembered. Fondly with family and friends telling their wonderful stories of their time spent with her.
A special thank you to the Green Team from Life Path Hospice who helped make Diana’s final days comfortable and full of care and compassion.
