

Don is survived by his wife of 56 years, Christine Ferguson Hory; children, Donald J. Hory Jr, Christopher S. Hory, and Marcie K. Hory; grandchildren, Nathan F. Hory, Kaitlyn D Hory, and Collin R. Hory; siblings, Mary Ann Mauer and Eileen Corsini; brothers-in-law, Clyde Collier, and Ray Corsini; sisters-in-law, Stella “Dolly” Ferguson, and Frances Collier, and his many nephews, nieces, grand nephews, and grand nieces. He is preceded in death by his brother, Emil “Butch” Hory; brothers-in-law, Earl Ferguson, William Hendrickson, and Frank “Skipper” Mauer; sisters-in-law, Mary Hendrickson, and Karen Hory.
Don was born on May 7, 1946 in Philadelphia, PA to Emil Arthur Hory and Catherine Flynn Hory. He attended Lenape High School in Medford, NJ and then enlisted in the U.S. NAVY and served on the USS Boston. After the NAVY he proceeded to RCA Technical Institute in AZ for Computer Sciences. While working and traveling with Raytheon he studied at various Universities throughout the U.S. and then moved onto Centronics which led him to start his own business Peripheral Company/PECO in Medford NJ which he had for over 40 years.
Don participated in service to his community as a life member with the American Legion and VFW, following in his fathers footsteps he was past president and life member of the Medford Lakes Lyons Club, he served as Pack Master of Cub Pack 48 of Medford Lakes and established the Soap Box Derby, and he volunteered his time as coach of youth soccer and baseball.
Don’s beliefs were always trusting in GOD, love and cherish family, and to always be proud to be an American and stand up for your country. He was a kind and generous man who would always think of others first. He loved the joy of life and to laugh while spending time with all of his family and friends. He loved all of his travels, boating, watersports, and was an avid coin collector.
A gathering of friends and family is scheduled from 1pm to 2pm on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home, 2323 W. Brandon Blvd, Brandon FL 33511.
