Doris Nidia Jimenez

She transitioned peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family in Riverview, Florida at the age of 75 yrs old. Doris was born on February 20,1951 in the Bronx, New York to Lydia and Pablo Quinones originally from Arecibo, Puerto Rico. She was the eldest of four siblings.

Doris dedicated more than 40 years of her life to nursing, caring for others with compassion, patience, and a heart full of love. Nursing was more than a career to her it was a calling. She touched countless lives through the care she gave to her patients, their families, and the people she worked alongside. Her kindness and dedication will be remembered by many.

Doris was affectionately known as Nana, Titi Diva, Mami Titi, D.J. and most importantly Mom. Whatever name she holds in your heart, the same thing can be said by all. Doris loved her family and friends deeply. She was a protector, a confidante, a caregiver and so much more. A woman of great resilience who made sacrifices throughout her lifetime for those she loved. While she was a force to be reckoned with her, she was also pure joy. Her one-of-a kind humor and boisterous laugh always had a way of making you feel lighter. And her smile…brilliant, beautiful, captivating. A smile that lit up a room.

A smile that will continue to shine down on us from above and illuminate those she leaves behind. Siblings, Jennie Salgado, Lillian Hannah, Pablo Quinones Jr.; brothers-in-law, Raul Salgado, Phil Hannah II; daughters, Anica Illiana Colon and husband, Angel Colon, Act’A Jennifer Jimenez; grandchildren, Illiana Alexis Colon, Marianna Cheyanne Jimenez-Sharpe, Juan Angel Jimenez-Sharpe, Mateo Angel Colon, Agustin Jose Jimenez; great-grandchild, Aurora Maria; along with nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

Though our hearts are broken, we are grateful for the years we were blessed to have her. Today, Doris is sleeping with the angels. Her work here is done, but the love she gave so freely lives within us. Thank you for a lifetime of love, care, and memories. We love you, we miss you, and we will carry you with us always.

A Memorial Mass for Doris will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday, October 24, 2026 at St Stephen Catholic Church, 10118 St Stephen Circle, Riverview, Florida.
