

Dorothy (Dot) Carlile 75, of Sun City Center, FL., went to her heavenly home December 12, 2016. Dot was born in Pasadena, Ca. December 28, 1940 to Harold DeLorum Emmons and Angela Marie (Santoro) Emmons. She graduated from the John Muir High School in Pasadena, CA. After High School, she did Accounting Clerical work for the City of Los Angeles. Dot was married to Burl Wayne Carlile on November 5, 1960 in Altadena, California. As a Navy family, Wayne and Dorothy made their home at Naval Bases all over the country from Hawaii to Rhode Island. Settling in Newport, RI for the majority of his enlistment and until his retirement. Dot was the homemaker of her family, raising three children while Wayne was at sea, after they each had spread their own wings in life, she began working at the Portsmouth City Clerk’s Office and later the accounting department at Salve Regina University for many years. She was also an avid volunteer and coach of the Softball leagues. In 2000, she and Wayne decided on retirement, and settled in Fort Myers, FL. She was a member of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Sun City Center, FL and a member of the Women of the Moose, Chapter 1031 in Riverview, FL. She loved to crotchet, make jewelry, travel and especially loved spending time on Cruises and visiting Lake Tahoe, sharing holidays and special occasions with family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Burl Wayne Carlile, Mother Angela Marie (Santoro) Emmons, Father Harold D Emmons and Sister, Mary Ann Emmons.
Dot is survived by her Brother, John (Candee) Emmons of Eugene, OR; Daughter - Debbie (Keith) Poole of Polo, IL, Son - David (Kay) Carlile of Brandon, FL, and Son - Greg Carlile of Tampa, FL; Grandchildren, Cody Carlile of Tampa, FL, Adam (Andrea) Poole of Olivehurst, CA, Megan Poole and Alison Poole of Polo, IL. Brother-in-laws; Troy (Vickie) of Tulsa, Ok; Roy (Linda) of Spiro, OK; Jerry (Ruth) Scarberry of Keota, OK; Carl Scarberry of Cowlington, OK; Sister-in-law; Mary Worth (Jim French) of Spiro, OK. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and beloved friends.
