

Edith “Ann” Hays Zarych, 79, of Daytona Beach, FL, passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2025 at her residence. Visitation will be held an hour before the service at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home of Brandon, FL on Monday, January 13, 2025 at 11:00am. Funeral service begins at 12:00pm. Pastor Branson Rogers will officiate with burial to follow in the Hillsboro Memorial Gardens on site. Michael Wright, Wayne Hays, Billy Blount, Dalton Blount, Ronnie Hays, and Josh Berrios will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Blount Jr, James Hays II, and DJ Blount.
Ann was born on September 24, 1945, in Autauga County, Alabama, and was the daughter of Oscar and Flo Mayo, both deceased. She was also predeceased by her sister, Rhonda Thomas, and her husbands, Carl E Hays SR and Paul Zarych. Most of her life she spent in Florida. Ann started a career as a worker in Student Nutrition Services for the Hillsborough County School District, and within two years trained for a SNS manager position, where she served the next 13 years as manager at both Bryan Elementary and Yates Elementary. Ann was an excellent cook and could make the BEST tasting recipes; her chicken & dumplings were a favorite at family events.
Ann is survived by her five children, Ronnie (Linda) Hays, Tommy (Sheila) Hays, Jimmy (Roberta) Hays, Suzie (David) Berrios, and Eugene (Kat) Hays. She has 15 grandchildren: Michael Wright, Amanda Karaokis, Wayne Hays, Giani Martinez, Billy Blount, Carrie Connell, Dalton Blount, Jamie Randall, Ronnie Hays, Regan Gomolak, Grace Hays, Ryan Gomolak, Alexis Hays, Josh Berrios, and James Hays II. As well as 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother, Mike Mayo, and one brother-in-law, Denis Thomas.
After the graveside service, please join the family in the reception room at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home on site for food and beverage.
